Preparation for the 52nd Peace Memorial Ceremony proceeding

A preparation for the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony to commemorate the 52nd Anniversary of the A-bombing of the city has started on August 1, at the Peace Memorial Park, which is situated in Naka-Ward, Hiroshima.

The white sign board was set on the south wall of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, which showed the name of the service, "Aug. 6, 1997 Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony" (1m in length, 35m in width). The sign was written in Japanese and English in two lines.

On the lawn where the ceremony takes place, 6,500 pipe chairs out of 12,000 chairs for the participants were properly placed, the rest will be added 4 days later.

The highest temperature for the day marked 33.3 C (average temp. is 31.3 C). Staffs worked hard for the preparation, devoted themselves while bathing in perspiration.
