S. Korea says Pakistan nuclear tests 'deeply regretful'

SEOUL, May 29 Kyodo - South Korea is deeply regretful that Pakistan conducted nuclear tests Thursday despite the earnest appeals of the international community, a Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry spokesman said Friday.

''We strongly urge both Pakistan and India to immediately declare a moratorium on further nuclear testing and nuclear weapons

development programs, and to accede to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty,'' the spokesman said in a statement.
