Kyodo News:
Anti-atomic bomb groups rap U.S. for abuse of Iraqi prisoners May 3, 2004

HIROSHIMA, May 3 Kyodo - Two anti-atomic bomb associations in Hiroshima jointly sent a letter to U.S. President George W. Bush on Monday to protest the alleged abuse of Iraqi prisoners and urged him to conduct a full investigation.

The Hiroshima Council against A-and-H Bombs and the Hiroshima Prefectural Confederation of A&H Bomb Sufferers Organizations said they cannot tolerate such ''brutal'' action and demanded that the United States immediately withdraw its troops from Iraq.

The two groups sent the letter through the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, following reports that American soldiers abused and humiliated Iraqi prisoners held at a prison near Baghdad. ==Kyodo
