1. Why did you decide to participate in the APEC junior conference? I decided to participate in APEC junior conference to take part in a peace activity and also for the renewal of an environmental process for human beings. I believe that the new generation may have tools to implement a new world order for better environment and peaceful time for nations. Today's people are more aware and conscientious about the fragility of our world. 2. What do you want to talk about with the other participants of the APEC junior conference? I would like to share my opinions about a peaceful life, the situation of the world and see the vision of the other participants about that subject. I would like also to discuss about any environmental subjects on how we can contribute to a better and safer world for all nations. 3. What is the image of Hiroshima? Hiroshima is a representation of what can be the worst a human being can do to other human beings, i.e. a large scale destruction of human lives in a single and unilateral decision by another human being or a small group of individuals. 4. What is needed to become the peace world? Definitely a better understanding of each other, a better communication and therefore more tolerance between peoples. Respect is the concept that each human being should be taught, this is probably much more important than love. Without respect of other cultures the world cannot, unfortunately, go without any kind of violence. 5. Have you ever done any peace activity in your life? I really never participated in any peace activity, this summit is a very good opportunity for me to listen to others, exchange ideas and express my opinion. 6. Would you give a message to the young people? My message would be "let's try to apply the respect concept and start to listen and understand about other cultures. To be more tolerant toward issues that we do not understand on the first approach as we do not always see the whole picture. To be more communicative and share opinions as this contributes to help to understand peoples." 7. What do you want to be in future? My dream is to work in fashion business. This may open me the door to the world and may help me to contribute to expand my vision of a better world by listening, exchanging ideas and opinions and accepting that other people may have different opinions than mine. Two people may look at the same situation but from a different angle that sometime each other cannot see and appreciate. Clear communication is important to understand the angle of the other person, this is for me the "concept of respect." 8. What do you think what Hiroshima can do to become the peaceful world? Hiroshima is already worldwide known for what happened, unfortunately, to hundreds of thousands of people with the atomic bombing in 1945. Maybe Hiroshima should be considered as an international capital to hold an annual international event such as an annual concert regrouping worldwide peace militant artists (I am sure that many international artists would be interested in participating in a concert for peace). Hiroshima is certainly one of the most emblematic place where an event for peace can be performed. 9. What kind of culture do you want to introduce to the other participants of the APEC junior conference? My father is a diplomat and therefore I have lived 14 years of my life abroad in different countries and cultures. So the major part of my life, I have been exposed to different people and cultures and my parents have always taught me the concept of respect that I mentioned above in order to understand differences between people. As you may suspect, I do not have the pretentiousness to claim that I know perfectly Canada but nevertheless I would like to share part of my Canadian culture which is known for its tolerance and comprehension toward foreigners. 10. Tell us what you like about your country. This is a very large beautiful country with diversified natural environments, such as mountains, oceans and sea. This is a young and dynamic country where freedom is one of the most important values. This is also a country which is open to immigration and therefore contributing to a wonderful cosmopolitan and multicultural society. This is a land where individuals can live peacefully together and aspire to achieve their goals and challenges regardless of ethnicity, color and culture they belong to. |
