外国でも平和を話し合うために

読者の皆さんの多くが国立広島原爆死没者追悼平和祈念館で、とても心を動かされたと書いていました。私も本当にそう思います。また、英語で被爆証言や詩を練習し、広島を訪れた外国人に発表しているボランティアの人たちに感動します。

私は以前、この人たちと一緒に活動していました。さまざまな年代の人たちが参加していましたよ。英語があまり得意じゃない人も、被爆者の経験を他の国の人たちに伝える手助けをしようと一生懸命がんばっていました。核兵器の危険性を世界中の人たちに本当に理解してもらうために、どうすれば被爆者の経験を伝える手助けをできるのか―。これは私たち全員が直面しているチャレンジですね。
