外国でも平和を話し合うために

秋が深まっています。平和記念公園を歩くと気持ちの良い季節です。前回のＢＯＮＵＳ問題では、公園のどのようなことを変えたいか聞きました。例えば、広島県府中町のＳＯＳ男さんは a lot of flowers around the park for a change of scenery （季節を感じられるようなたくさんの花々）がほしいと、広島市中区だいちこさんは there should be more information written in foreign languages （もっとたくさんの情報を他言語で書くべきだ）と書いていました。

両方とも良いアイデアですね。公園内の碑には、英語の説明さえもないものがあります。もし海外から訪れた人が碑について、建てられた背景や込められた思いを理解できたら、より強い影響を与えることができるでしょう。

The Atomic Bomb Dome is also known as the A-bomb Dome. The building was once the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall. It opened in 1915 and was designed by a Czech architect named Jan Letzel. It was used to display and sell products from Hiroshima Prefecture. It was also used for art exhibitions and other art events. During World War II, the gouvernment set up offices in the building. The atomic bomb exploded almost directly above it.
